Worse Time yet Best Perspective Experience

Hi! I am back from running the 1/2 marathon in Vegas, here's a little update.

This year’s race came with a humbling reality: I showed up more de-conditioned and underprepared than ever before for this annual half marathon commitment.

My real challenge wasn’t only the miles. It was shifting my mindset.

  • To remember this is less about me and far more about the cause.

  • To lower my expectations and embrace a little humble pie (especially as runner after runner passed me by)

  • To reconnect with the joy of the experience; letting go of speed, performance, and personal bests, and instead being fully present to the moment… and to the reason I am committed to return each year.

What remains most is gratitude. Deep gratitude for the incredible generosity and support from people near and far. A powerful reminder that we cross the finish line together. THANK YOU.

And together, we are contributing to something truly meaningful: helping children with cancer and supporting the research that will one day end this disease.

Love, Helen
