Come On, Get Happy: A Soma Faith Tribute to Dolly Parton
Tomorrow saturday at 10:00 AM | Celebrating the Jester Archetype
Sometimes faith looks like stillness.
Sometimes it looks like surrender.
And sometimes… it looks like putting on a little rhinestone sparkle and having a whole lot of fun. ✨
Tomorrow at 10:00 AM, our Soma Faith Movement class will be a joyful tribute to one of the most beloved, colorful, and unforgettable characters of our time: Dolly Parton.
And honestly, who better to help us explore this month’s Jester Archetype?
The Jester reminds us that life is not meant to be taken so seriously all the time. The Jester brings laughter, play, spontaneity, humor, freedom, and joy. They have the courage to be fully themselves and, in so doing, invite us to loosen our grip, lighten our hearts, and find the sacred in a good laugh.
Dolly Parton embodies so much of this spirit.
Yes, she was wildly talented, successful, generous, and wise. But she also knew how to play. She didn’t apologize for her big hair, her rhinestones, her humor, her personality, or her joy. She made room for both the ridiculous and the profound, and helps reminds us that the two can live beautifully side by side.
Behind the laughter is a woman who has experienced hardship, stayed rooted in her values, loved generously, and used her gifts to bring hope and opportunity to others.
That feels very Jester to me.
Because the Jester isn't simply about being silly.
The deeper invitation is to discover that joy itself can be a spiritual practice.
What if joy is holy?
What if laughter helps us release what we've been carrying?
What if shaking our bodies, moving freely, singing loudly, and allowing ourselves to play can open a door to something deeper?
What if we don't always have to work so hard at healing?
Tomorrow, we'll let Dolly be our guide as we move through music, rhythm, laughter, and playful expression. We'll explore what happens when we give ourselves permission to lighten up, loosen up, and let joy move through us.
And perhaps we'll discover something the Jester has known all along:
We don't have to lose our depth to find our delight.
We can be wise and playful.
Strong and silly.
Sacred and sparkling.
Serious about life without taking ourselves so seriously.
So come as you are.
Wear your rhinestones if you've got them.
Bring your sense of humor.
Bring your whole self.
And most importantly, bring your joy.
You are invited to dance a little Dolly, laugh a little louder, shake a little freer, and remember that sometimes our soul simply needs permission to have some fun.
Soma Faith Movement
Tomorrow • 10:00 AM
Come celebrate Dolly.
Come explore the Jester.
Come move your body.
Come find your joy.
And as Dolly herself might remind us “if you're going to walk through life, you might as well wear a little sparkle”
Come as you are. Move as you feel. Laugh as you can. And let joy have the final word.
