Nia Green Belt: Tamara Sanderson Shares

Tamara Sanderson, 7 year Nia enthusiast and Nia black belt, shares her perspective of the Nia Green Belt training. Tamara has taken the Nia Green Belt course 3 times; twice in person and once through the new Online Nia Training platform. Although Tamara doesn't presently intend to teach, she's keeping the door open AND enjoys how the Nia Green belt has assisted in deepening her Nia practice. Tamara shares how she's applied the practices of Nia Green belt to be a more relaxed and capable communicator, especially in situations where she is under stress. The Nia Green Belt training provides you with practices, skills and drills necessary to be able to deliver the promise of Nia with confidence and competence. Different from any other belt the Nia Green Belt has no principles, and lots of hands on practice. Every session is divided into music, movement and magic sections. Each week provides a new practice to develop, including the practice of Passion, Listening, Cueing, Precision, Attitude, Dedication, Skill, Communication, Integration and Professionalism.

Teaching Nia is a high multi skill task. Simultaneously we are required to listen to the music, dance to the music, recall choreography, perform technique, anticipate change, be able to talk and sustain keeping the beat, provide advance notice of the next moves coming up, deliver and sustain a focus and intent, craft an experience through 7 cycles, deliver a workout and all of this while sustaining being in the body through sensation, with a relaxed thinking mind and a joyful heart! The Nia Green Belt helps in all these areas!

The Green Belt ONLINE Nia Training provides 2 hour sessions a week, for 12 weeks. You receive plenty of time to practice, rewind, replay and apply what you are learning while taking and possibly teaching (not required) Nia Classes.
